CoSEA Mission

Our mission is to…

  • Advocate taxpayer rights through professional and ethical representation.

  • Promote the recognition of the role of Enrolled Agents as “America’s Tax Experts”.

  • Support and enhance the professional growth of our members.

  • To partner with Colorado Legislature to draft appropriate Colorado Tax Laws.

objectives and activities

With the above mission in mind, CoSEA is pursuing objectives and activities in the following areas:

  • Organizational and Financial Security – CoSEA is organizationally and financially sound with adequate reserves. The organization will:

    • Maintain sound organizational structure.

    • Be constantly aware of elements of the environment that may affect the CoSEA mission and goals.

    • Maintain sound financial administration.

    • Increase non-dues revenue.

  • Recognition of Enrolled Agents – Promote public understanding of the EA license issued by the United States Treasury Department.

    • Brand the enrolled agent as 'America's Tax Expert'.

    • Increase the number of enrolled agents.

  • Advocacy – CoSEA is recognized as the voice of enrolled agents and advocates for the profession for taxpayers in Colorado.

    • Partner with the Colorado Department of Revenue to enforce current Colorado tax laws equitably.

    • Partner with the Colorado Legislature to draft equitably enforceable Colorado Tax Laws.

    • Partner with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment to promote compliance with Colorado employment tax laws.

    • Partner with the IRS and other taxing authorities on behalf of members.

  • Member Services – CoSEA provides member comradery and other meaningful benefits to maximize its value to members by:

    • Being a voice for the Colorado tax-paying community at the legislature.

    • Supporting members in need.

    • Organizing resourceful events for tax practice management.

  • Education – CoSEA will offer US Circular 230-compliant professional education for members providing:

    • Tax Compliance Services

    • Taxpayer Representation Services

    • Aspiring enrolled agents preparing for the SEE exam
